My name is Miki. I'm from Takaoka in Toyama prefecture. I'm sophomore and I study biology. I like watching movies. Recently, I watched " LA LA LAND". I'm interested in gardening because I want a job related to food in the future and I like growing vegetables. I have gardened when I was in elementary school. My favorite vegetable is potato.

Summer Garden 2017

Recently we made our summer garden. First, we prepared the soil by taking out all of the weeds and making nice, deep beds for our vegetables.

We are doing an experiment with two kinds of organic fertilizer. We want to see which fertilizers helps our vegetables grow better. The first kind of fertilizer is made from pine needles and bamboo ash.

The second is made from pine needles. We used it last year and it worked really well.

Finally, we planted a LOT of different vegetables: cucumber, tomatoes, green pepper, eggplant, zucchini, lettuce, corn, carrots, spicy red pepper, and okra. We're looking forward to enjoying these vegetables over the summer.
